Exploration Geologist

Position Overview
We are seeking an early-career Exploration Geologist to support active REE exploration programs in Georgia. This is a field-based role that provides hands-on experience with drilling, geological mapping, sampling programs, and exploration data collection. The successful candidate will work closely with senior geologists and contractors to support ongoing exploration programs and help advance new targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory protocols
• Log drill core and describe rock and soil samples
• Describe basic lithology and geological features in drill core and outcrops
• Assist with drill program coordination and work with drill crews
• Assist with sample QA/QC procedures and sample tracking
• Collect field data including pXRF measurements
• Assist with basic data collection and interpretation from exploration surveys
• Geological mapping (prospect to district scale)
• Soil, boulder, trench, and channel sampling
• Support exploration targeting through field observations and data collection
• Assist senior geologists with reviewing geophysical and geochemical results
• Assist with maintaining exploration data and preparing basic maps
• Help prepare figures, notes, and internal exploration updates
• Professional engagement with landowners during permitted activities

Qualifications
Required

• B.S. in Geology, Geological Engineering, or related field
• 0-5 years of mineral exploration experience
• Experience with drill core logging or geological fieldwork
• Basic understanding of geological sampling procedures
• Proficiency in GIS (ArcGIS or QGIS)
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to travel extensively

Preferred

• Experience working on mineral exploration or geological field projects
• Familiarity with basic geological mapping and sampling methods
• Exposure to GIS software (ArcGIS or QGIS) through coursework or fieldwork
• Experience working in outdoor field environments
• Interest in mineral exploration and critical minerals
• Strong organizational and data recording skills

Field Expectations

• Work rotations 14 days on / 14 days off (10+ hour days)
• Outdoor fieldwork in variable terrain and weather conditions
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs (core boxes, equipment)
• Strict adherence to company safety and data integrity standards

Engagement Structure

This position is structured as a 1099 independent contractor engagement governed by a consulting agreement. Terms include pre-approved reimbursable expenses, required liability insurance, and confidentiality provisions.
