Representing the Mining Industry Under the Gold Dome
Georgia Mining Association Committee for Good Government
For almost forty years, the Georgia Mining Association Committee for Good Government (GMACGG) has been the voice for our state’s mining industry in the Georgia State Capitol. The committee fosters, encourages, and promotes good government and enhances the economic well-being of the mining industry and wider business community.
GMACGG is a nonprofit, bipartisan committee of corporate and individual volunteer representatives interested in supporting the state legislative programs of the mining and mining-related business communities.
How We Promote Georgia Mining
GMACGG activities include:
- Monitoring, tracking, and supporting legislative initiatives that benefit Georgia’s mining industry
- Serving as the voice of the mining industry in discussions of legislation that affect business as a whole in Georgia, including issues of taxation, human resources, transportation, tort reform, and more
- Providing financial support for legislative and state office candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to sound government and the economic well-being of Georgia
- Consolidating the voice of Georgia’s mining industry operators into a unified voice with legislators
The committee gives mining companies, suppliers, and individuals an effective and affordable vehicle for participating more directly in unified policy efforts.
Who Governs GMACGG?
Per our bylaws, GMACGG is governed by a Board of Trustees selected from the board of GMA. Trustees have final approval over all expenditures made by GMACGG in support of state candidates.
